I have spent more than 35 years working across software engineering, architecture, technology leadership and transformation, from hands-on engineering to CTO and advisory roles.
Today, I help leadership teams make better decisions about architecture, AI, transformation, technology risk and operational resilience.
An evolving perspective

Moving through these roles changes the questions you ask. How should we build this? Becomes: should we build this, what will it mean for the business, and can the team sustain it?
I remain comfortable in the technical detail. But the most useful work often happens between engineering and leadership: making constraints understandable, surfacing assumptions and helping people commit to a direction.
My experience spans startups, scale-ups and large enterprises. As CTO and co-founder of Act2Financial, a U.S.-focused fintech, I work directly with the realities of building an early-stage product: architecture, product decisions, delivery, AI and commercial priorities all moving at the same time.
I have also worked on complex technology programmes with organisations including Shell, AstraZeneca, Barclays, RSA, NAVTOR and Wales & West Utilities.
How I approach the work
Practical progress.
Clear accountability.
I start with the business problem and the people responsible for it. Then I look at the architecture, the decisions already made and the constraints shaping delivery.
The answer is rarely another layer of process. More often, it is a clearer priority, a simpler design, an explicit tradeoff or ownership that everyone understands.
I work remotely with U.S. and European organisations, supporting founders, engineering leaders and boards on a fractional, project or advisory basis.
My personal advisory work sits alongside Pilotry.ai, where I help leadership teams structure AI adoption and turn scattered ideas and experiments into practical transformation programmes.
